Responsibilities
Director, Policy Analysis - Health Information Technology:
Walgreens is seeking an experienced policy analyst/writer for duties including, but not limited to, federal, state, and local health information technology initiatives and standards, policy and issue analysis, informational brochures, white papers, and presentations. The ideal individual will be able to research initiatives, standards, and policies involving complex health care information technology and the pharmacy arena, as well as other Walgreens business interests, and produce documents and input to be used for federal, state and local government outreach. The role requires communication with subject matter experts in various internal departments, outside stakeholders, associations, coalitions, and senior government policy experts to determine when initiatives and analysis should be created or updated.
Qualifications
Candidate should possess a strong technology understanding from a business users perspective (providing input and creating the blueprints for what the IT Developers will build). The ideal candidate should have legislative experience, as well as being a subject matter expert (competition data & knowledge, how the regulatory/legislative environment controls factors, where the market is trending, etc). Candidate should be able to provide a vision in regards to where and how the company needs to progress.
Individual must hold bachelor's degree, 5 years experience; possess strong organizational, communication, analytical and writing skills; highly motivated, self-started and team oriented; able to deal well with a rapidly changing environment; have proficiency with MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Internet research. The ideal candidate experience would include: working with health IT policy research, health policy, regulatory affairs and/or legislative experience; Approximately 10 - 20% travel may be required
