Communications Manager Position – ITIF

About ITIF The Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF) is the world’s leading think tank for technology and innovation policy. The organization hosts panel discussions and events in various locations to influence public debates on technology-related issues.

Duties

  1. Communication Program Execution Partner with ITIF’s communications team and policy analysts to execute a communications program that enhances ITIF’s reputation as a thought leader. Utilize proactive and reactive media outreach, digital media, webinars, and direct engagement.
  2. Media Coverage and Outreach Drive media coverage by publicizing research reports, placing op-eds, monitoring news, cultivating relationships with reporters, and updating ITIF’s press lists.
  3. Social Media Management Draft and schedule social media posts for Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms. Leverage social media to raise organizational profile and engage in public issues.
  4. Event Promotion Assist the communications team in promoting and executing public events and webinars.
  5. Content Creation Partner with ITIF’s design and digital media manager to conceive collateral materials, commentary pieces, and other content on the website.
  6. Metrics and Reporting Track media coverage and communication performance metrics. Provide regular reports for staff and ITIF’s board.
  7. Copyediting Copyedit and proofread ITIF’s communications materials.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in communications.
  • Previous experience in media relations and use of platforms like Cision, Meltwater, and/or Critical Mention.
  • Excellent writing and copyediting skills.
  • Familiarity with public policy and government; keen interest in technology and innovation.
  • Understanding of digital communications and website content management.
  • Practical experience using social media for organizational visibility.
  • Strong organizational habits, ability to handle multiple projects, and a collaborative team player.
  • Visual storytelling experience, including video animations, would be a plus.
