The Public Affairs Council (www.pac.org) is the leading association for the corporate public
affairs profession. The membership is comprised of the public affairs
departments of about six hundred companies, associations and consultancies.
Through its Research and Consulting Services Department, and its affiliated
research arm, the Foundation for Public Affairs, the Council conducts
benchmarking and trend research, and offers custom benchmarking and management
consulting services to its members. The Council is seeking a consultant
Research Associate (approximately 20 hours per week) to aid the creation of
syndicated research content and consulting projects. This is a critical role
reporting to the Director, Research & Consulting Services/Executive
Director, Foundation for Public Affairs.
Key
Duties
Managing Council
and Foundation benchmarking surveys including survey development and
deployment, management of responses, data analysis, writing and print
production
Managing
Foundation trend studies including background research, writing, editing and
print production
Leading the
annual fundraising campaign for the Foundation for Public Affairs
Providing data
analysis and writing for benchmarking, research and consulting projects
Tracking and
managing publications sales using the Council's relational database and Web site
Supporting the
Director in promoting and marketing research projects and consulting services
Other duties as
assigned
Key Skills
Ability to use
Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentation-building
Qualitative and
quantitative analysis using surveys, interviews and literature review
Writing
Building and
managing relationships with senior executives
Familiarity with
print production processes
Required Attributes
BA degree in
public policy, government, business, economics or related field

designing surveys and interpreting results in text and graphical formats
