Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (Washington, D.C.)
The Corporate Relations Program Manager directs the Airports Authority’s corporate and community relations and public outreach to build and strengthen awareness and public perceptions of the organization and its role in providing essential transportation services and infrastructure to the National Capital Region and in economic development, with its dual-airport system, toll road and Metrorail construction operations. Responsibilities include building and strengthening partnerships with universities and other educational institutions, business and advocacy organizations, aviation and airport industry associations, state and regional economic development and tourism agencies, and community groups, as well as promoting the Airports Authority’s social and environmental stewardship efforts and building and maintaining relationships with official visiting delegations and individual citizens on matters related to the operation of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), the Dulles Toll Road, and, as assigned, the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project.
Serves as the Airports Authority’s corporate events manager, chief of protocol for visiting delegations and dignitaries, liaison to external business and advocacy groups, administrator of executive correspondence in the Office of Communications and Government Affairs, publisher of reports and communications materials for external community and political stakeholders, producer of speeches and presentation materials for public appearances by executives, and manager of arts and exhibit programs. Works with functional areas across the Airports Authority, as well as, its senior management and its 17-member Board of Directors.
A Bachelor’s degree in any field w/ eight years of progressively responsible experience in media relations/communications that includes substantive work in most of the DUTIES in this job description, to include: (a) performing community outreach and advocacy activities; (b) overseeing corporate-level sponsorships, contributions, and memberships; (c) writing speeches and producing visual presentation materials for senior management appearances/presentations; (d) planning and managing internal and external corporate events, exhibits, and performances; and (e) preparing, disseminating, and responding to news releases, announcements, and media stories.
NOTE: A fully equivalent combination of education and training beyond what is needed to satisfy the above may be substituted for up to two years of these eight years of experience. For example, a master’s degree in any field that indicates the ability to successfully perform the DUTIES in this job description may be substituted for two years of experience.
Must have a valid State driver’s license in good standing.
