The Senior Policy Program Manager assists senior management in creating a coherent and executable team strategy through thought leadership and influence in IT policy. This will include monitoring and influencing policies that impact Verisign’s products and services including Naming and Verisign Security Services (VSS) as well as monitoring and engaging policy activities related to The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).
Key responsibilities include:
Supports the Verisign Public Policy and Government Relations team through engagement with industry associations, government agencies and other groups involved in driving policies that impact Verisign as a corporation.
Builds and manages relationships with industry influencers to promote Verisign’s interests. Supports participation in government forums and industry group meetings.
Develops corporate positioning and strategy on a wide range of policy and implementation issues.
Coordinates internally to ensure consistency of positioning across functional groups. Advises on implications of global and national internet policy and their impact on Verisign.
Explores new business opportunities resulting from legislation and/or regulation.
Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience required.
10-15 years of progressively responsible relevant policy experience in a technology related industry association, government agency or organization in the domain industry space required.
