Position Overview:
This Senior Manager position has responsibility for public policy issue management related to Technology Industry legislative and regulatory matters applicable to the Intuit business, particularly those dealing with intellectual property and patents, privacy, security, the Internet, e-commerce and consumer protection, as well as relevant policy issues pertaining to Intuit's interests in the Financial Services Industry. Specific duties include:
Coordinate identification of legislative and regulatory issues and development of policy positions, with company stakeholders. Participate in proactive Government Relations team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
Track, monitor and develop impact analyses about, Federal and State legislation and regulations relevant to Intuit business interests and public policy goals.
Coordinate and synthesize regulatory and legislative analyses performed by outside consulting and counsel resources, as well as internal business unit and Legal impact analyses, to develop a holistic view of legislative and regulatory impact.
Communicate and coordinate relevant legislative and regulatory information with Intuit business and functional units, Corporate Affairs staff, Legal Department subject matter attorneys, and Chief Privacy, Security, Technology and Information Officers of the corporation as appropriate.
Coordinate with trade associations and think tanks for information and analyses related to Intuit's identified public policy issue interests.
Represent Intuit before state and federal governments on legislative, regulatory and policy matters.
Prepare and coordinate the development of company comments for submission in federal and state regulatory rulemaking proceedings.
Develop testimony for company participation in governmental hearings, including legislative, regulatory or policy proceedings.
Prepare company witnesses, and from time to time testify in such governmental proceedings or speak at selected industry or public policy conferences.
This Senior Manager position is located in the company's Washington, DC office, and can include frequent travel as needed.
Qualifications:
Law Degree and licensed to practice in at least one state and/or the District of Columbia
Minimum of at least 4 years federal government legislative and/or regulatory experience with technology industry policy issues, and financial services industry issues, in a government agency or legislative office.
Private sector experience in legislative and regulatory affairs preferred.
Excellent written, analytical, presentation, and research and analysis skills.
Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
