Reporting to Vice President, Retirement Team Leader, this position will assist with the development, implementation and coordination of a broad range of communications and media relations activities for Prudential and Prudential?s Retirement business to support the company?s and the Retirement business? goals.
Responsibilities:
? Help develop communications programs to reach key audiences, including traditional media, trade media, and internet-based media, as well as customers, third-party distributors, and other stakeholders.
? Coordinate with all parties to ensure that communications are consistent with corporate direction and messages and business needs.
? Prepare communications materials including press releases, Q&A?s and backgrounders for use with the media.
? Establish relationships with reporters and pitch stories to media to secure coverage of Prudential and Retirement business in traditional and social media.
? As required, act as a spokesperson for the company/Prudential Retirement with the media.
? Execute a broad range of communications initiatives including Webinars, retirement seminars, speaking opportunities and presentations.
? Develop materials for internal communications.
? Support Prudential Retirement?s Marketing Communications team on the development of crisis and client communications materials.
The successful candidate will have experience and a track record of generating outstanding results:
? Worked in journalism or public relations.
? Have excellent writing and editing skills.
? Knowledge of financial products or personal finance is preferred.
? Outstanding communications skills, a strategic mindset, and ability to interface at an executive level.
? Strong ability to network and develop relationships with the media and social media.
? Client-oriented mindset with an ability to work closely with and support the marketing teams in the company's various businesses.
? Demonstrated ability to contribute strategic level thinking and influence direction.
? Ability to influence others and work collaboratively in order to produce results across multiple functional teams.
? Ability to operate in a very fast-paced environment with multiple high-level priorities.
? Bachelor?s Degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field preferred.
? 5+ years experience in communications, public relations or the media.
