Public Affairs Supervisor - 3944

The Public Affairs Supervisor manages, plans, organizes, and coordinates the day-to-day activities of assigned staff. Provides leadership, support, clear direction, and expectations for staff performance. Participates in the development and implementation of goals, mission, and objectives, policies and procedures of Energy Northwest's full spectrum of public affairs products and programs. Applies personal expertise to identify public affairs needs, assist in plan development, and support in the execution of those plans. Assures Public Affairs efforts remain focused on approved public affairs plans with clearly identified desired outcomes, within a broad range of internal and external public affairs disciplines. Direct production and editorial voice of Energy Northwest (EN) publications and other collateral tailored to inform internal and external audiences. Preferred candidate must have hands-on experience providing live on-camera news media interviews under stressful conditions, experience in developing professional, trust-based relationships with news media representatives, and the ability to provide candid, professional public affairs feedback to senior staff. High level of professional knowledge of public affairs practices, tools, techniques, and methods of evaluating impact of public affairs efforts. Knowledge of news media markets, needs, and practices is essential. Highly developed professional writing skills, public speaking, and public affairs planning is desired.
