As every state government relations professional knows, states are often where policy change happens first  and more frequently. Join us to learn how to demonstrate the importance of your state government relations work to your leadership and other stakeholders. 

This program is eligible for 2 Specialization credits toward the Certificate in Government Relations and Lobbying and 2 Elective credits toward the Certificate in Public Affairs Management.


2:00 p.m.       Measuring and Showcasing State Government Relations

This session will cover strategies and metrics for showcasing the impact of your state government relations activities. Our speakers will discuss strategies to measure and quantify the return-on-investment of your state-level activities to effectively demonstrate the value of government relations.

  • Measurement tools and metrics
  • Strategies for calculating the return on investment of your state legislative work
  • How to assign ROI and dollar values to legislation, regulations and stakeholder engagement

Our closing session will focus on demonstrating the value and impact of your state government relations function to stakeholders in a meaningful way. Leading state government relations professionals will share how they’ve successfully showcased the value of their teams to internal leadership and other departments to secure resources and recognition for their work.
