The Changing Social Media Landscape

Social media has seen substantial change in the past year, including Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter and its subsequent rebranding, the debut of Threads as well as a proliferation of Twitter alternatives, such as Bluesky, Mastodon or Counter Social. Meanwhile, you may be ignoring more traditional platforms, like LinkedIn and Substack, that are often underrated and can be valuable for getting your message out. So how do you know what’s right for you and your organization?

In this session, we will cover:

  • The latest developments in new and existing social media platforms and which ones are best suited for advocacy and public affairs
  • Tips for social media managers who are overextended trying to create content for too many channels
  • Striking the right tone to match audiences on different social platforms
