An engaged PAC board comprised of individuals passionate about the PAC will position your program for success. Board members play an important role as not only strong contributors to the PAC, but ambassadors for engagement and solicitation efforts. Selecting strong board members and then leveraging their talent is an increasingly effective way to elevate your PAC program.

This program is eligible for 2 PAC credits toward the Certificate in PAC & Grassroots Management.

As a CAE Approved Provider educational program related to the CAE exam content outline, this program may be applied for 2 credits toward your CAE application or renewal professional development requirements.

9:30 a.m. Managing Your A-Team: Developing a Strong PAC Board
A strong PAC board can be the difference between success and stagnation for your PAC. PAC board members are not only strong contributors to the PAC, but they’re also critical in educating eligibles and soliciting donations from their peers. Join us and learn how to assemble a strong team of board members and provide them with the right tasks to contribute to the PAC’s success. This session will cover:

  • Key considerations for managing a successful PAC board, such as identifying the right board size for your organization, formal roles for members and what types of individuals make the best board members
  • Various tasks often given to board members, as well as what to reasonably expect from them and how to communicate those expectations
  • Strategies for handling ineffective members or making wide-scale changes to your governance structure
