Hiring a consultant lobbyist is a significant financial investment and can put your reputation on the line. Often, finding the right the firm or practitioner for you can be a complex task, especially in a year of remote work and heightened uncertainty due to COVID-19. We’ll help you prepare for a successful 2021 by walking you through the ins and outs of hiring, assessing and managing contract lobbyists.

This program is eligible for 2 Specialization credits toward the Certificate in Government Relations and Lobbying and 2 Core credits toward the Certificate in Public Affairs Management. As a CAE Approved Provider educational program related to the CAE exam content outline, this program may be applied for 2 credits toward your CAE application or renewal professional development requirements.

From both a federal and state perspective, our experienced government relations professionals will share ways to:

  • Decide if a full-time employee or a contract lobbyist is the right investment
  • Assess budget needs
  • Find a contract lobbyist or firm that aligns with your needs and values
  • Get the interviewing and hiring process right
