Successful PAC Communications: Solicitation Workshop

Ever feel like your PAC solicitations recycle the same language over and over again? Looking to write and talk about your PAC in a new and dynamic way that turns potential donors into active ones? We’ll work through writing a compelling solicitation email or letter and strategies for describing your PAC, including small group presentations and meetings that will excite and motivate your eligibles to join.

This program is eligible for 2 PAC specialization credits toward the Certificate in PAC & Grassroots Management .

9:00 a.m.           Laying the Groundwork: PAC Education Campaigns
A key component of many solicitation plans is a PAC education campaign to raise awareness of the PAC program. In this session, we’ll discuss creative ways to educate eligibles on the important role the PAC plays and set the stage for a solicitation campaign. Topics will include:

  • Crafting messaging and questions every PAC education campaign should address
  • New and impactful ways to demonstrate the PAC’s value and importance
  • Appropriate timelines and mediums for a robust education campaign

Every PAC professional should know how to create a quick graphic for a solicitation campaign or PAC report. This interactive session will teach attendees the basics of data visualization, including how to leverage software and a hands-on lesson in creating content for PAC communications, such as:

  • How to distill complex information into a compelling visual
  • Exploring free and paid design tools to make basic visual content like infographics

11:00 a.m.          Successful Solicitation Campaigns from A to Z

An effective solicitation campaign has many moving pieces. This closing session will focus on the essential elements, such as identifying the best timeline, target audience, budget and outreach strategies to attract new donors to your PAC program. Hear directly from PAC practitioners on planning and executing successful solicitation campaigns, including:

  • The essentials for planning and preparing for a campaign
  • Best practices for written PAC solicitations, while incorporating components such as visuals, videos, events and more
  • Ways to turn your PAC presentations and pitches into engagement tools
