10 a.m.−12:15 p.m. ET
Washington, DC or Virtual

Bringing your advocates to the capital is one of the best ways to train, energize and engage them in your organization’s advocacy efforts. But how do you plan and execute an effective fly-in that stands out in a sea of fly-ins? Additionally, how do you maintain your advocates’ enthusiasm after they return home?

This program is eligible for 2 grassroots credits toward the Certificate in PAC & Grassroots Management.

As a CAE Approved Provider educational program related to the CAE exam content outline, this program may be applied for 2 credits toward your CAE application or renewal professional development requirements.

  • Deciding who to include in your event, ways to encourage attendance and handling logistics like meeting scheduling

11:15 a.m. Taking it to the Next Level: Using Your Fly In to Engage Internal and External Stakeholders

How can you make sure that the excitement of your event extends beyond your scheduled Hill meetings? Top organizations use fly-ins to identify and cultivate super-advocates, recruit PAC donors and engage with the media. Hear how they:

  • Use fly-ins to engage senior leadership in advocacy efforts
  • Find ways to leverage the event to advance key initiatives, such as advocate recognition, PAC fundraising and recognition and developing year-round advocacy leaders
  • Elevate policy issues and legislative staff education through social media
  • Gain meaningful feedback from the meetings to advance policy priorities and keep the conversation going
  • Get useful testimonials and justification for future grassroots activities and fly-ins
