Job Description:
BioNJ, the largest life sciences trade association in NJ, is looking for a dynamic, high-energy Alliance Manager. The work of the Alliance Manager will support BioNJ’s face-to-face engagement with stakeholders, such as employers, Patient advocacy groups, hospital groups, healthcare providers, payers and others. Responsibilities will include steering the BioNJ Patient Advocacy Committee, and support of BioNJ’s efforts in Trenton and Washington to ensure that a unified, pro-Patient voice is heard by key constituencies.
Reports to Vice President, Government Affairs
• Expand and build activity of BioNJ Patient Advocacy Committee
• Grow, deepen and diversify alliances with third party stakeholders with a focus on supporting and furthering BioNJ’s work to promote the value of medical innovation messaging

• Cultivate relationships with Patient advocacy groups, employers, hospital groups, healthcare providers, payers and others

• Identify opportunities for partnerships and special projects

• Develop a series of educational and capacity building briefings for stakeholder groups

• Support BioNJ’s efforts in Washington and Trenton

• Represent BioNJ at partner and coalition meetings, advocacy days, etc.

• Help to build support within the advocacy community for BioNJ views on timely policy issues

• Ensure BioNJ policy platform integrates the perspectives of Patient and stakeholder community

• Collaborate with the BioNJ Communications Team to support media and digital messaging on the value frameworks model
• Track record of successfully building long-term partnerships with external stakeholders
• Hands-on experience in educating external stakeholders on advocacy and policy priorities

• Understanding of the legislative and regulatory process in both Washington and Trenton and the playing field for life sciences issues

• Understanding of research and development in the life sciences industry

• Knowledge of health policy and the value of medical innovation

• Ability to work independently and creatively in a dynamic, fast-paced working environment

• Trade association and/or member management and relations experience preferred
