Position Summary/Purpose of Position: The Senior Communications Specialist manages key publications, develops and maintains media contacts for pitches, develops advanced editorial content related to complex topics, participates in marketing and events planning, and provides other services to support the Marketing Communications team at the Robert H. Smith School of Business. Minimum Qualifications: BA in English 10+ years of professional experience writing for traditional or new media. Experience in business and higher education preferred. Please provide clips.Exceptional writing skills. Able to produce clean, compelling, jargon-free copy; translate complex concepts for a wide audience; identify trends and generate story ideas. Impeccable grammar; attention to detail.Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to build mutually beneficial working relationships with faculty. Team player. Self-starter. Enjoys working with diverse team.Excellent organizational skills. Able to work on multiple projects with minimal supervision, meeting deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.Familiarity with social media. Adept at using social media to promote content.
