Assistant Vice President, Regulatory Affairs

Summary: The Assistant Vice President, Regulatory Affairs will join a team that leads CTIA’s advocacy efforts before the Federal Communications Commission and supports the Association’s advocacy before the Executive Branch, other federal agencies, Congress, and other policymakers. This position works closely with the Senior Vice President and the Regulatory team in the development, coordination, and execution of the federal regulatory policy goals, objectives, and initiatives. Will regularly engage with our members, partners, policymakers and other stakeholders to advance CTIA’s goals and objectives.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Support the Regulatory Affairs team in developing federal regulatory policy options and positions, written and oral advocacy strategies and related materials
- Stay abreast of and inform the Regulatory Affairs team and Association’s members of matters being considered by the FCC, other federal regulatory agencies and the Executive Branch
- Coordinate with the Regulatory Affairs team, other Association teams, and member company representatives to disseminate information, develop policy positions and industry goals and objectives, and determine advocacy strategy
- Manage engagement with external consultants and counsel
- Supervise the drafting of filings in proceedings at regulatory agencies or departments
- Present the Association’s federal regulatory policy positions to the FCC, federal regulatory agencies, and other constituencies, as appropriate
- Respond to requests for information from members of the Association and federal regulatory agencies
- Assist, as appropriate, other Association departments in connection with requests for information on regulatory policies
- Represent the Association at conferences, seminars, and other regulatory and industry meetings
- Assist in the development and implementation of regulatory policy programming for CTIA’s tradeshow and other educational events

Education and/or experience:
B.A (or B.S.) and J.D. Experience in federal regulatory and administrative procedures preferred.
Detail-oriented with knowledge of grammar and punctuation. Proficiency in proofreading skills and strong communications skills are required.
