Rebuilding Together, a national housing and community revitalization nonprofit, headquartered in D.C. with more than 120 affiliates around the country, is seeking a Content Marketing and Internal Communications Associate. This position can work remotely and reports directly to the Senior Manager, Content Marketing and Internal Communications.

As a member of the marketing and communications team, the associate will support the overall communications strategy to enhance and strengthen the position and image of Rebuilding Together.

Administrative Tasks:

  • Reply to emails sent to communications@rebuildingtogether.org
    • Point to Find Local Affiliate website page/share how to get involved/how to establish partnerships with affiliates
  • Respond to all relevant requests/questions the marketing and communications phone line receives
  • Provide affiliates with access to the the internal affiliate portal
  • Assist with organizing files and the shared drive

Social Media/Website Support:

  • Support the success of Rebuilding Together’s social media channels
    • Reply to messages
    • Assist with drafting and scheduling content
    • Support social media campaigns to increase brand awareness
  • Continuously update the Latest News section on the national website
  • Update miscellaneous website content as needed
  • Assist with gathering website and social media metrics for internal use

Internal Communications/Affiliate Support:

  • Respond to affiliate marketing questions/requests via telephone or email in a timely manner
  • Assist with creating materials for various campaigns for use by affiliates
  • Assist with creating marketing materials
  • Gather affiliate news stories and create the weekly media round-up email
  • Monitor the affiliate Google group and reply as needed
  • Assist with writing blog posts for Rebuilding Together’s national blog, [Re]Purpose

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, English, public/media relations or related field with a minimum of one year of relevant experience, and/or equivalent combination of education and internship experience
  • Interest in working in the non-profit sector or in fields related to Rebuilding Together’s mission
  • High level of attention to detail and organization
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with social media trends and platforms (especially Twitter, Facebook, Instagram)
  • Experience with Google Analytics and Google Ads preferred
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud preferred
  • Knowledge of photography and photo editing software is a plus
  • Experience with Drupal is a plus

Vaccination Requirement:Our priority during the process of resuming work during an ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is to keep staff, AmeriCorps members, volunteers, and homeowners safe. National office staff who will be working in the office (full time or hybrid) will be required to be vaccinated, unless an exemption is requested due to health or religious reasons. In addition, National staff who visit or work with affiliates in person must be vaccinated. Our National office will continue to follow local and government recommendations regarding COVID.
