Job Description

What You’ll Do

• Being the steward of the company’s purpose and how we show progress on achieving our purpose
• Developing and implementing policies relating to Blue Cross NC’s ethical, sustainable, and environmental responsibilities
• Ensuring that Blue Cross NC has a positive impact on communities and their health
• Raising public awareness of Blue Cross NC’s commitments and progress towards corporate responsibility, social responsibility, and healthier communities
• Developing and implementing a CSR strategy for Blue Cross NC and assuring the strategy meets legal, business, community, and customer’s needs
• Creating trust-based partnerships with community partners and key stakeholders, leading with listening
• Acting as the owner for Blue Cross NC’s CSR initiatives
• Developing a CSR corporate purpose scorecard and measuring progress on key corporate indicators
• Building and activating an all-company workgroup to ensure we’re delivering on our purpose and leading with health equity
  • Work in collaboration with key internal business leads in implementing the CSR strategy
  • Manage a diverse team and work to enroll a company-wide workgroup to encourage diverse perspectives
• Promoting employee volunteering activities in alignment with the CSR strategy
• Ensuring health equity is infused in all decisions and activities
• Setting long-term strategy for how Blue Cross NC’s CSR strategy evolves
• Benchmark Blue Cross NC CSR with other NC and national businesses, including other Blues and national for-profit health plans
• Liaison with the DEI Council to ensure coordination and a one-team approach
• Demonstrated ability to build, implement and evolve Corporate Social Responsibility programs

What You’ll Do

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree (where required)
• 10+ years of experience in related field
• In lieu of degree, 12+ years of experience in related field

What We Like

• An understanding of DEI, Sustainability, Charitable Giving, Community Relations, and Employee Engagement, as well as an eye for global trends that impact those issues
• Demonstrated ability in establishing relevant CSR-related metrics and a track record of exceeding goals
• Degree(s) in business management, economics, government, communication, or environmental science preferred, or equivalent experience
