Position Specific Description
The Campaign Manager for Regulatory/Legislative Affairs will oversee the execution of and contribute to the design and management of enterprise-wide strategies and tactics to enhance the grassroots advocacy capabilities at the state and local level. He/She will have a proven track record of successful experience in campaign or issue management, a deep familiarity with political process and electoral politics and a solid understanding of traditional paid, earned and social media approaches.
The role will report to the Executive Director, Strategic Engagement of Regulatory & Political Affairs, but will closely coordinate with NEER Development, Marketing and Communications, IT and FPL External Affairs. The Campaign Manager will help develop long term strategies to strengthen NextEra’s relationship with key state and local officials, community leaders and landowners by developing an “always on” approach that is focused on a long-term engagement with key localities and states.
The Campaign Manager must demonstrate professional experience in campaign management, strategic communications, political consulting and/or work in state and local government. Previous corporate experience is desired. A strong working knowledge of election law, lobbying, traditional grassroots advocacy strategies and digital engagement are all pluses. The Campaign Manager will coordinate within a team of four and will draw upon resources from across the business units, so working cross-functionally or in highly matrixed settings is required.
The position is based in Juno Beach, FL. Some travel is required (approximately 33%).
