The American Academy of Pediatrics is seeking a Chapter Advocacy Communications Specialist in our Washington, DC office. This grant-funded position will support AAP chapters with a focus on COVID-19 vaccine confidence and other issues.

 

This individual will work with AAP’s local chapters and pediatricians across the country to advance COVID-19 vaccination priorities in the media, public policy and digital media, assist with drafting crisis response and proactive communications, and developing innovative earned media, grassroots communication and customizable social media content.

 

We are looking for an individual with at least two to three years’ related experience in communications, including social/digital media, preferably in the healthcare sector. A bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience is required. This individual must be a creative thinker and a strong writer who is highly motivated, can create content for different audiences, and respond quickly to time sensitive matters. Basic knowledge of public policy and earned and digital media is required.
