The award-winning Brand Strategy division at the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) is looking to complement our talented team of designers, writers and artists with an additional graphic designer. This is a chance to story-tell, shape the brand DNA and design for the largest manufacturing association in the country, which represents many of the most innovative and tech-leading companies in the world–companies such as Pfizer, Honda, Toyota, Intel, Microsoft and New Balance. The ideal candidate is a natural storyteller, who can weave a moving narrative to help our audience come to love the NAM brand and what manufacturing represents. This individual understands the power of design and story to change perceptions, empower people and create unique moments that stay with an audience. This individual will report to the senior director of creative content and help drive visual concept development, design and production of digital, print and event communications for the NAM. This position requires a strong and highly motivated individual who can quickly generate multiple initial concepts and develop them into viable design solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING (OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED):
Be an integral part of the team that leads the development of creative content strategy and plans, which are prioritized and integrated with the association’s strategy and business objectives.
Articulate and apply the brand DNA, including voice, tone, look and feel.
Distill marketing and communications challenges and business goals into focused creative briefs.
Build unforgettable brand experiences and create design systems that can be successfully applied for event productions.
Design and execute integrated brand campaigns.
Create original concepts that result in effective and compelling communications.
Develop breakthrough creative for integrated marketing campaigns that drive engagement.
Ensure that all in-house and external creative resources are on message, on target and consistent with defined brand/content strategies.
Understand design guideline systems and have a passion for typography, art, color, photography, creative solutions and innovative communication methods.
Collaborate across multiple teams to drive projects to completion.
Manage day-to-day graphic production needs, keeping up with a calendar of events, work orders, campaigns and any project-driven deadlines.
Stay up to date on the evolving design, technology and media landscape, including the emergence of new standards and protocols.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Three to five years professional experience required
Portfolio demonstrating concept-driven, forward-thinking and original work in a variety of applied styles and mediums
Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud programs, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
Exceptional design skills and knowledge of layout, typography and photography principles
Ability to create original visual elements, strong illustration skills are a plus
Basic familiarity with web technologies and principles including HTML, CSS and UX
Strong sense of craftmanship and attention to detail
Knowledge of printing methods and processes, experience creating print-ready art files for professional production
Proven ability to work across teams and synthesize input
Strong understanding of digital and social platforms as well as their use within marketing
Solid written and verbal communication and collaboration skills
Ability to manage multiple projects at one time to meet aggressive schedules
Experience in After Effects and/or Cinema 4D a plus
Experience with motion graphics a plus
