PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Acts as the primary spokesperson and communications liaison for the company, while coordinating all legislative efforts by working with local, state, and federal governments, and the news media. Ensures that PBV’s unique brand is built and cultivated by working with internal stakeholders, food and beverage associates, and surrounding community organizations in all regions where business is conducted.

• Responsible for the creation and cultivation of PBV’s internal and external communications strategy and brand image.
• Develops targeted public relations strategies to improve and enhance the perception of the company, its overall corporate image, and unique identity within the community.
• Creates and deploys professional media communications to ensure brand message continuity, while collaborating with necessary internal and external stakeholders.
• Develops and maintains company website content, using available technologies.
• Designs, creates, and maintains a robust social media presence and brand for PBV. This media presence includes management of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Yammer, etc.
• Writes effective press releases, prepares information for media and other sources; prepares presentations and public relations campaigns for delivery within and outside the organization.
• Serves as the brand liaison for media requests, as well as representing PBV at trade and beverage associations, media events, and other related programs.
• Acts as the primary legislative affairs contact, working with government officials, advocacy groups, and citizens to convey legislative needs and goals.
• Conducts research and monitors legislation, keeping current on updates within state and federal governments that could affect PBV; proactively researches policies to see what changes could be beneficial and any trends that may have negative future impact to the company.
• Ensures current registration as a lobbyist and complies with all lobbying laws, including filing required reports with the Secretary of State’s office within designated timeframes.
• Coordinates political, campaign contributions, and related programs on behalf of PBV in all regions where business is conducted.
• Ensures that special Suntory requirements and projects are fulfilled for communications and sustainability efforts.
• Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree, in Communications, Business, or related field. And, five (5) years combined experience in public relations, communications, and legislative affairs.  Must have sound knowledge of local, state, and federal governments and legislative processes. Must have, or be able to make, extensive business community contacts and be comfortable building relationships with all levels of the legislative and broader communities within all states where PBV operates. Must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills. Domestic and international travel required about 15%-20% of the time.

Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently.
