THE POSITION

Communications Manager, Global Quality & Regulatory Policy

 

Summary

As the Communications Manager, Global Quality & Regulatory Policy,  you will be responsible for driving, developing and implementing integrated communication strategies to support the delivery of Roche Diagnostics Global Quality & Regulatory priorities.

 

In this role you will apply your excellent knowledge and experience across the communications disciplines to engage  internal and external stakeholders. You are a strategic thinker who will bring a high level of creativity, writing mastery, and a solid understanding of the global regulatory and policy landscape to deliver integrated campaigns that amplify our policy and advocacy efforts in the regulatory space.

 

Under the direction of the Head of Quality & Regulatory Policy Communications, you will also lead internal communication efforts focused on connecting employees to the Global Quality & Regulatory Organisation’s strategy, vision, culture and key initiatives.

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Driving public platform engagement strategies through effective external relations  and thought leadership programming.
  • Leading the organisation of media events e.g. LinkedIn Live, Media Partnership panels etc
  • Using extensive knowledge of the global regulatory and policy environment in particular, Europe, US and APAC to position Roche externally
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and colleagues
  • Proactively setting the external  agenda on key priority topics that are important to Roche from a regulatory policy and/or advocacy perspective
  • Equipping leaders and employees as ambassadors of our policy and advocacy efforts, and supporting them to confidently articulate these efforts with consistent messaging.
  • Developing and implementing both internal and external communications strategies
  • Creating compelling content that integrates creative design, video and digital content to bring our internal and external communications to life

    • Has a strong track record of delivering integrated communications campaigns and excellent knowledge and understanding of external communications.

 

Who You Are

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience, required.
  • At least 7 years of professional experience in Corporate Communications, Media Relations, Public Affairs or Public Relations in a multinational working environment, and preferably in the pharmaceutical or diagnostics industry.
  • Strong experience in designing and implementing both internal and external communication solutions, demonstrated experience of  working  effectively across a global multicultural and multilingual team.
  • Strong understanding of traditional and social media landscape and firsthand experience in driving public platform campaigns including influencer relations and thought leadership programming.
  • Experienced in crisis and issue communications.
  • An excellent team player, good listener, of high integrity and with the ability to build trust.
  • Strong relationship management, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with senior management.
  • Experienced in dealing with media/influencers and in building and maintaining relationships with them.
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively as needed.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, written fluency in German language is beneficial.
  • Excellent writing, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Digitally literate and proficient in gSuite beneficial

Location:  Basel / Rotkreuz / Indianapolis / Branchburg / Pleasanton / Mannheim. (At the Company’s discretion, an exception to the location requirement could be made under extraordinary circumstances.)
