With proposal season in full swing, DCG Communications (DCG) is seeking motivated, collaborative, and highly organized Communications Project Managers to lead our team on behalf of our federal client. Each project manager will develop and execute strategic communication plans in line with the client’s goals and objectives, providing value-add initiatives and generating new ideas to support outreach to veterans.

In addition to establishing positive relationships with the client, the Project Manager will directly manage team members, overseeing their quality of work and contributing to their professional growth and development via coaching and mentoring as well as participating in quarterly and annual performance evaluations, while also working collaboratively with other client team members, partners, and internal support such as graphic design. In this role, you will serve as an ambassador for DCG and provide a connection for the team back to the DCG culture.

Location: Currently the entire DCG team is working virtually due to COVID-19. Once it is safe to return, the Project Manager will likely be required to come into the DCG office in Washington, DC and/or client site for meetings 1-2 days per week.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in public relations or communications, or equivalent years of relevant experience
  • A minimum of eight to ten (8-10)  years of prior public relations and communications experience to include leading projects and supporting and managing federal programs
  • Proven to have excellent writing and project management skills, an eagerness to work in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to manage a diverse workload
  • Ability to lead and direct federal projects to include strategic planning, overseeing delivery, client management, directing all communication, managing deliverable schedules, and more
  • Demonstrates strong writing skills for content generation with the ability to edit materials prepared by others to ensure deliverables are client-ready
  • Proven experience providing expert advice related to strategic communications for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability provide input on the program evaluation and improvement of the organization and management of projects and programs to increase productivity/program performance
  • Strong attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Proven and extensive experience in a large-scale integrated Health Care System and with substantive programs focused on Veterans health care and outreach
  • Experience with media analysis regarding social media platforms
  • Experience implementing successful (proven) communications campaigns in an integrated health care setting

    • Anticipates and identifies potential client or DCG issues/constraints, and identifies/communicates potential solutions
    • Displays expert people and project management skills by optimizing contract resources
    • Becomes a go-to resource and SME on tools and techniques for research, analysis, and problem-solving
  • Business Development
    • Work closely with DCG leadership to support contract recompete
    • Actively improve business development/sales approach through learning new skills (online, coursework, reading)
    • Work together with Director, VP and/or CFO to set profitability goals for the recompete
