Citrus Heights Water District’s (CHWD) emerging Communications and Public Engagement program provides a proactive approach to public engagement and assists customers and stakeholders gain a greater understanding of the District’s priorities, programs, services, and key issues. CHWD’s Strategic Plan includes communications initiatives that strengthen existing, and develop new, resources to improve communications and provide opportunities for public awareness and customer engagement. Reporting to the General Manager, the new
Communications and Public Engagement Manager will plan, organize, direct and manage communication and public engagement activities including public information, community outreach, education, marketing and communication programs for the District; serve as the District’s liaison with the news media; oversee and participate in the development and dissemination of a wide variety of information and publications of public interest; lead the development of communication strategies, plans and special events to enhance the District’s visibility; coordinate assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies; manage external affairs as assigned, and perform highly responsible and professional management-level and operational support to program management and leadership staff and the Board of Directors in the assigned areas of responsibility.
