Responsible for researching, writing, editing and updating member communications to support Plan health education and outreach initiatives. These include print and electronic media (member/provider newsletters, web site content, letters and postcards) and telephonic scripts. Accountable for ensuring that print and electronic communications with members and providers are culturally appropriate and can be easily understood by persons with limited health literacy and limited English proficiency.
Independently ensures that these department materials are innovative, clinically accurate and health literate. Uses strong understanding of the contractual, NCQA, state and federal regulations to ensure all member communications are compliant. Manages cross-functional, inter-departmental, enterprise-wide member/provider communications projects to advance member engagement and improve HEDIS initiatives, resulting in direct financial impacts for the company. Independently represents the enterprise with external vendors, subcontractors and state agency partners. Provides strategic direction, tactical and regulatory expertise in support of all member/provider communications initiatives within groups such as annual operating plan groups, HEDIS work groups, Corporate Quality and Integrated Care management across Plans.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or equivalent education and experience required.
- 5-10 years experience including 3-5 years experience doing work at a level comparable to those listed above in a managed care setting preferably in a regulatory environment.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills with a variety of MO programs.
