Position Description

We’re searching for an experienced communications professional who has proven skills managing media-relations programs and is a skilled storyteller who will contribute content for our internal and external digital and print channels.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe corporate communication team partners to preserve and enhance the bank’s reputation. We use our unique skills to inspire and engage audiences in ways that unlock value and make people proud to be associated with Farm Credit. We’re seeking a person who will:

  • Use a consultative approach to develop and execute effective media-relations strategies and tactics for our district partners.
  • Develop and issue bank news releases.
  • Write stories for our award-winning Landscapes magazine and annual reports.
  • Partner to develop videos, blogs, podcasts, social-media posts and other digital assets.
  • Partner with bank departments to develop strategic plans and execute internal communication tactics.
  • Enjoy the challenge of working on many projects simultaneously and has the time-management skills and optimism to keep those projects humming along.

What You Bring to the TeamThis important role requires a collaborative person who has a nose for news with at least 6 years of experience in a communication-related field, preferably related to agriculture or as a news reporter. You’ll need a bachelor’s degree in a communication-related field, preferably journalism, and proven and polished writing skills. You know how to make complex topics engaging and simple. We prefer a person who understands the basics of photography, video production and graphics. Our department works with all departments, so you need demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to work within deadlines. Experience with Office 365 and Microsoft Teams is preferred. Thoughtfulness, thoroughness and creativity are musts.
