The Role
The Community Relations Partner will be responsible for developing, deploying, and sustaining community engagement strategies in local markets.  This individual will collaborate with Diversity & Inclusion, HR, Public Relations, and Government Affairs practitioners to ensure Tesla’s community engagement objectives are met.
Successful candidates will have experience engaging and building relationships with local community leaders and Tesla employees alike. Candidates should be passionate about the local community and Tesla’s role in further engaging and supporting the communities in which we reside.
Responsibilities
• Develop and execute annual community engagement and outreach strategy locally and statewide
• Serve as the primary interface with local community officials and business leaders regarding community engagement and outreach opportunities in the areas we operate
• Support Tesla leadership by communicating strategic business priorities with leaders within the community and representing by attending events, limited public speaking engagements, media appearances, and participating on local boards and committees
• Engage Tesla’s internal community through creation and delivery of internal content: web articles, blog posts, and other digital content updates
• Drive momentum on annual diversity & inclusion and employee engagement programming
• Earn trust across a range of levels and disciplines to establish yourself and the team as a trusted partner
• Think big with an expanded, holistic view and long-term perspective of Tesla’s place in the community
• Connect and inspire people to drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple groups with competing priorities
Requirements
• Bachelors degree in human resources, organizational development, non-profit management, or business-related field.. MBA, MPP, JD or other advanced degree preferred or equivalent experience
• Five years experience in non-profits, community affairs, political or grassroots organizing, or policy advocacy
• Superb judgment and emotional intelligence with ability to diffuse situations and forge consensus among divergent views
• Meticulous attention to detail and demonstrated history of event planning/management
• Proven track record of building relationships with internal stakeholders and external partner organizations
