We’re looking for a Community Event Specialist to increase our physical brand presence in the Southeast.

As a Community Events Specialist you will ideate with the General Manager to plan and execute local events, social media campaigns, custom Merchant partnerships, and ad hoc Merchant activities.


  • You will be managing the execution of multiple types of events, including, but not limited to: in-person activations, influencer campaigns, festival partnership, B-2-B events, chef demonstrations, virtual contests, on-campus campaigns, and more!
  • You are responsible for the successful execution and ROI for all events. You will develop, maintain and expand community outreach in support of DoorDash’s products and initiatives.
  • The event partnerships you work on should generate brand awareness, wider platform adoption to grow volume and monthly active users.  You will assess customers’ needs and interests based on primary and secondary research to make recommendations for rapid consumer growth and retention.
  • You will build new relationships with various local cultural organizations to increase our reach into the diverse community across the southeast markets.
  • You will work with cross functional teams to develop custom Mx opportunities that meet their objectives as well as DoorDash’s

This role is best suited for results driven individuals who are able to create and develop meaningful relationships. This exceptional client service skill, and a willingness to think creatively to execute events with outsized impact for customers and DoorDash. You must be a personable and motivated self-starter with the ability to execute quickly. We look for self-starters who are reliable, looking to work hard, and can identify solutions to hard problems with relentless persistence. About You and Qualifications

  • 3+ years of event management or production, or community organizing experience
  • Experience managing live activations, and liaising with event managers
  • Is up to date on all the best things to do in the city, and if you don’t know, you are eager to find them!
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Self-motivated and driven, wants to develop a career in events marketing, account management and/or client service
  • High energy/self-starter, customer-service oriented
  • Reliable and resilient, able to manage a frustrated merchant in person, over the phone or through email
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Expert interpersonal skills
  • Willing to engage in-person in different areas of the local market with all types of merchants and customers
  • Able to be on your feet, with or without accommodation, for the majority of the working day, about four out of five days a week, visiting merchants and customers in different areas of your market.
  • Strong computer proficiency including good knowledge of Microsoft/GSuite applications
  • Able to manage budgets and negotiate with vendors
  • Creative and critical thinker who enjoys identifying high impact solutions and executing those solutions efficiently
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, and an ability to run multiple projects simultaneously
