NAHB seeks a motivated and creative writer to work collaboratively with the Communications staff on developing, reporting, writing, repurposing, and editing a broad range of content relating to the housing industry for the NAHB website blog, and other communications channels. The overall goal is to help showcase the value of NAHB to our members and enhance communications about NAHB’s positive impact within the home building and remodeling industries.

 

The ideal candidate for this position is a strong writer and copyeditor with a background in traditional journalism, web writing, social media, and project management. They will be highly organized, detailed, efficient, and committed to producing high-quality web content.

 

The ability to work with diverse professionals from various fields – including legislative, legal, technical, and economic – to develop and compose articles that effectively illustrate NAHB’s priorities and housing industry issues is essential. This position offers the opportunity to work in a hybrid in-office/remote environment.

 

Requirements

  • A minimum of two years of in-depth experience in website content creation and optimization.
  • Experience writing for traditional, online, and social media channels.
  • Proficiency with email management programs and web content management tools, including a basic knowledge of photo editing software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field, or equivalent in education and experience.
