Facebook is looking for an experienced Policy Director to join our Content Policy Team. The team’s mission is to create and communicate rules for how our products may be used by our constituents, including advertisers, developers, and all other people on Facebook. As a Policy Director, you will manage a global team of policy experts to develop policies and communicate those policies both internally and externally. You will be responsible for ensuring that policies take into consideration the perspectives of multiple internal and external experts and stakeholders. You will also be responsible for ensuring that internal teams understand how those policy changes and interpretations affect their work. You should be passionate about Facebook’s mission, experienced in policy, and comfortable communicating to a variety of different audiences.
Content Policy Director Responsibilities
  • Drive the long-term, strategic vision for turning Facebook’s values into operable policies
  • Manage a global team with 24/7 crisis management staffing
  • Act as the escalation point of contact and manage internal communications for policy issues
  • Build relationships with cross-functional partners, including Product, Engineering, Sales, Operations, Marketing, Communications, and Legal
  • Articulate policy philosophy, launches, and changes to relevant parties, including management, operations, cross-functional contacts, and external parties
  • Provide guidance to team members on effective communications and consensus-building
  • Work with operations groups to develop scalable solutions to support Facebook’s continued growth and drive key automation and productivity initiatives to improve the processes of the Content Policy team
  • Proactively identify gaps or conflicts in existing policies and develop scalable solutions
Minimum Qualifications
  • BA/BS Degree
  • 10+ years of relevant policy work experience in legislation, litigation, or policy development
  • Management experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • J.D. or equivalent graduate-level degree in law
