Job Summary and Scope

The Public Affairs Coordinator will design, implement, evaluate and manage a variety of initiatives that proactively support the department and organization’s strategic objectives. This position will create solutions by offering creative, analytic, and solution oriented, strategies to ensure that the goals and necessary support of the of the Public Affairs department is met. Working in a team environment, this position must possess a high degree of integrity, interpersonal skills, discipline, focus, and emotional intelligence. The ability to build and maintain collaborative, proactive, and professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders is crucial to the success of this position.

Essential Functions

This role is responsible for (though not limited to):

Assist the VP of Public Affairs and other executives as needed with project oversight leading to increased engagement and advocacy with members of General Assembly and other key stakeholders
Support the creation and management of Cardinal Innovations’ comprehensive government relations strategies, policies and programming
Provided administrative support for the Public Affairs department as needed to include but not limited to developing/mailing/tracking internal and external correspondence, and the coordination of meetings and schedules
· File all federal and state lobbying and reports to ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations

Assist in communication and education of internal personnel on relevant government relations and policy matters and developments
Manage project timelines and deliverables to ensure deadlines are met
Monitor federal, state, county and municipal politics, policies, and trends for relevance to the company.
Coordinate meetings with elected officials and other high-level stakeholders, as well as oversee internal committees as assigned
Coordinate internal meetings as assigned and record meeting minutes to ensure agenda items are addressed, action items/issues/decisions are noted and responsibility for follow up items is assigned and tracked

· Superior analytical and critical thinking skills, a strong work ethic, good judgment, and an ability to maintain total confidentiality and compliance with the professional responsibility rules for principals, lobbyists, and other government relations professionals.

Exceptional interpersonal skills and effective communication ability are vital for this position.
Results-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to drive matters to conclusion and achieve results, including through others, even where no reporting relationship exists.
Intermediate knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office products (such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)

Education and Work Experience

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university/college is required

3-5 years experience performing administrative duties
