Corporate Affairs and Communications Manager

Position Purpose

This position is responsible for anticipating and shaping the operating environment of the US Leaf market which creates commercial risk and/or competitive opportunity for the company. The incumbent will work to develop and implement strategies and programs to facilitate preferred changes in the operating environment in a responsible, proactive manner. In support of the above objective, the incumbent must develop a comprehensive understanding of the social, economic, political and regulatory environment in which the company operates, and of the special interest groups, organizations, and media which influence and shape public opinion in the market. The incumbent will oversee the design, development, and the delivery of media relations programs and projects that contribute to the reputation of JTI Leaf Services. The incumbent will liaise on a regular basis with the JTI market CA&C Director and Manager to coordinate consistency in messages and encourage best practice.

Requirements:

  • University degree or equivalent relevant education
  • Relevant experience in leaf business with a solid understanding of Social Responsibility Programs and communication; good understanding of agronomy is an asset
  • Understands Microsoft Office Applications
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills
  • Good analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
