Job Overview:

Are you passionate about internal communications and excited about informing and engaging employees for a well-known retailer? Macy’s, Inc. is currently seeking an Associate, Corporate & Companywide Communications to support Corporate functions focused on our approximately 100,000 employees.

This position is based in New York City and will report directly to the Director, Corporate & Companywide Communications.

This position is hybrid and includes a mix of at-home and in-person work.

Essential Functions:

  • Build strategic messaging and communications to inform and engage internal audiences.
  • Communicate initiatives across the enterprise about key corporate functions, including HR, Technology, Finance, Legal, and other areas as assigned.
  • Develop email communications, talking points, newsletters, video scripts, presentations, and other support materials.
  • Manage town halls and other corporate events, partnering with functional leaders.
  • Utilize metrics to measure the success of current communications and make adjustments as needed.
  • Enhance storytelling and amplification to express Macy’s, Inc. brand attributes and strategic vision.
  • Maintain consistency of internal brand standards across all materials.


  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, organizational communications or journalism required.
  • 5+ years of communications experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in corporate communications, with specialization in internal communications, change management, and organizational communications.
  • Expert communicator; able to write and edit communications that translate the Company’s goals, objectives, and initiatives.
  • Able to easily build relationships and credibility across functions and at every level.
  • Flexible approach to work with ability to toggle between projects and priorities in a high-pressure environment.
  • Able to manage projects from beginning to end applying resourcefulness and a can-do spirit.
  • Self-driven with ability to work independently and effectively plan and execute strategies to achieve priorities.
  • Perform in a fast-paced, goal-oriented, and time-sensitive environment.
  • Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner.
  • Proficiency with MS Office computer programs are required.
  • Experience with online creative and CRM-type tools a plus, i.e. Canva, Poppulo, Photoshop.
