​The Corporate Responsibility (CR) department is responsible for the development and implementation of the firm’s CR agenda and initiatives. We do this by crafting goals, policies and initiatives that align with and support the firm’s business strategies and operational objectives and support the communities where we do business. CR includes Global Government Relations, Global Philanthropy (GP), Sustainable Finance, and the JPMorgan Chase Institute.

Job Description:

JPMorgan Chase is hiring a Community Reinvestment Policy Director. The position will sit on the Community Reinvestment and Community Partnerships team within Corporate Responsibility’s United States Government Relations group and will report to the Deputy Community Reinvestment Officer. The ideal candidate will be based in Washington, DC, New York, NY, Columbus, OH, Chicago, IL, Los Angeles, CA, San Francisco, CA or Dallas, TX.

Congress enacted CRA in 1977 to encourage insured depository institutions to help meet the credit needs of their communities. The law has helped to revitalize our nation’s low- and moderate-income (LMI) communities by increasing access to credit, on fair terms, and in a safe and sound manner.  The Community Reinvestment Policy Director will take the lead on behalf of the firm to review strategies, progress, and drive modernization of this important act in an effort that will continue to build and improve opportunities for LMI communities.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Drive internal collaboration to understand and optimize the nexus of policy, business practices and the needs of LMI communities;
  • Leverage deep subject-matter expertise to understand CRA obligations, assess market landscape, identify performance trends and develop tools to maximize opportunities;
  • Provide expert analysis and advice on CRA regulations and proposed regulatory changes in support of the firm’s obligation and commitment to financial inclusion in LMI communities;
  • Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders
  • Understand industry challenges, opportunities and best practices;
  • Play a key role with external stakeholders through interaction with relevant trade organizations

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in banking strategy, analytics, finance, and project execution roles
  • CRA policy experience, and/or related community development experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required (advanced degree/MBA preferred)
  • Excellent strategic vision; understands the direction of the business and industry; can articulate vision to motivate and influence others at all levels
  • Sound judgment, professional maturity and personal integrity, strong work ethic, proactive and results-oriented, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
