The Corporate Social Responsibility Manager will be responsible for reviewing, reestablishing, reimagining, revitalizing, revamping our ProjectSERVE vision/brand, strategy and multi-year implementation plan to include our four pillars:

  1. Food – Food is the cornerstone of what we do. Through food, we feed the body and the mind. We need to make sure that we are getting the right food to the right people. Goal – The right food to more people to help reduce hunger.
  2. Education – “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” – Nelson Mandela. We want to support those who have a drive for education but may not have the resources. Goal – Create and provide education access through grants/scholarships/foundation(s) with the focus on agriculture, nutrition, and food science.
  3. Community – If food is the cornerstone, then our work in the community is the mortar that binds us all together. We must get out from behind our desks and get involved in our community. Goal – To actively promote and engage our team in the communities we serve.
  4. Employment – We must hire people from all different communities, backgrounds, and life experiences. Goal – Promote the hiring, development, and advancement of underrepresented groups through the expansion of our candidate pool, strategic diversity recruitment, partner with professional associations, and engage in philanthropic activities that support these efforts.


You’ll manage and analyze data, develop recommendations, and report on this information internally and externally. Additionally, you will conduct research, brainstorm ideas, propose policies, create project plans, write reports, and build relationships cross-functionally, while implementing and coordinating comprehensive range initiatives that support the company’s ProjectServe goals (above).

Essential duties:

  • Our office is great, but part of your job is to get out and be a part of our community!
  • Work with the team on community involvement and volunteer events.
  • Represent! Attend community events with our Zee Zees brand retail team, representing our ProjectSERVE program.
  • Help us make the MOST difference in our community by matching the food available for donation with the communities in the most need.
  • Here we GROW! Help our community grow by helping us grow our corporate giving and sponsorships participating organizations, dollars raised, learning and network opportunities, and community presence.
  • Use our platforms to get the word out about our initiatives, by engaging target audiences using a wide range of partners and channels, including social media, events, videos, and internal and external websites.
  • Team work helps the dream work
  • Partner with key internal stakeholders to regularly discuss strategy and goals, monitor progress and highlight challenges, and support various initiatives and activities.
  • Work with our vendor community to report on sustainability data to drive program awareness and communicate program results.
  • Work with our HR team to promote hiring, development, and advancement of underrepresented groups through the expansion of our candidate pool, strategic diversity recruitment, partner with professional associations, and engage in philanthropic activities that support these efforts.
  • Work with customers, suppliers, procurement, HR, sales, and other departments as appropriate to implement and manage social, ethical, or environmental activities in the supply chain. Including, but not limited to, engaging on their responsible sourcing programs, working with procurement and suppliers to effectively audit and maintain social/ethical performance.
  • Collaborate with our Creative Services team to transform relevant information into easy-to-understand, branded, and gorgeous (if I do say so myself) communication pieces.
  • Help knowledge and opportunities collide in the food industry
  • Developing an annual education program through potential grants, scholarships, and/or foundation with the recipients looking to develop careers in agriculture, nutrition or food science.
  • Bring ideas to the table to help us progress by proposing relevant policies/documentation related to Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability.
  • Empower people! Provide strategic direction and project manage global community involvement, including virtual volunteer efforts, team volunteerism, non-profit board leadership, and on-site events while coordinating with site leaders, project champions, and community partners.
  • Data and reports are a necessary evil
  • You’ll be creating annual reports of Social Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability at National Food Group using all internal and external resources. You’ll do the numbers, and work with the great people in Creative Services to make it pretty!
  • Manage projects from design to launch, liaising with multiple internal/external business functions across the company.
  • Make sure we’re making an impact! Continually measure the impact of communications plans, report performance, and recommend/implement improvements.
  • To continually grow and be on top of the ways we can help our communities, there may be additional duties as assigned.


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


  • Knowledge/subject matter expertise in Corporate Social Responsibility program management
  • Manage budgets and KPIs, for both business and social impact
  • Skilled in written and verbal communication powerful presentation development skills required
  • Strong business acumen
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development
  • A high-energy person that is pro-active, positive, customer-centered, team-focused, and has an entrepreneurial spirit, strong initiative, and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong team collaborator with proven ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships and lead diverse groups of internal and external colleagues
  • Creative, decisive, collaborative, responsive, able to work independently and take responsibility for decisions and outcomes



  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Marketing, Sales or a related field
  • Bachelor degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field
