ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The President is the Chief Executive Officer of the University and is responsible for all operational and strategic aspects of the University, including student recruitment, retention, and graduation; academic policies and programs; state and non-state operating budgets; personnel policies and procedures; external outreach, collaboration and fund raising, etc. The Assistant Vice President of Government and External Affairs assists the President in the performance of the President’s duties as they relate to legislative, government, and external affairs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Cultivation of Governmental Officials/Agency Relationships:
Community Outreach Program:
Demonstrated understanding of university (or higher education) protocol related to contact with governmental officials and their staff. Working knowledge of state and federal budgetary and appropriations processes. Experience working in a multi-disciplinary academic environment. Master degree in public policy or related field.
APPOINTMENT AND SALARY
Salary is competitive and includes a comprehensive benefits package. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a Management Personnel Plan Level I position with an attractive benefits package, which includes a vacation accrual rate of 16 hours per month, an excellent choice of medical, dental, and vision insurance, long term disability coverage, life insurance and retirement benefits.
