The Director of Communications and Public Relations will work with the President to amplify the impact of Committee of 100 by building a brand identity while raising our public profile. This position will be responsible for proactively advancing the strategic positioning of C100 and its dual missions through effective outreach and consistent and compelling story-telling across all communication channels.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop and implement a global communications & advocacy strategy in line with
    C100’s overall strategy to position C100 to global audiences
  • Responsible for outlining the brand, messaging, and identifying key audiences and
    communication channels, and to ensure that C100’s message is consistently communicated
  • Coordinate speaking engagements and storytelling opportunities for our spokespeople
  • Must have direct relationships with the mainstream media at the global level. Develop and
    nurture media networks, to educate journalists on C100’s dual missions and programs.
  • Oversee the expansion and strategic direction of C100’s digital presence through web sites
    and social media channels
  • Work with the Director of Finance to develop and manage the communications budget

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Commitment to the mission and values of C100
  • 3-5+ years of experience as a communications professional; experience with a PR firm is
    preferred
  • Significant prior success in media relations; extensive knowledge of traditional media
    outlets; outstanding and extensive professional and media network contacts at mainstream
    media platforms
  • Exceptional writing, proofreading and copy editing skills
  • Exceptional organizational messaging experience, preferably in a mission-driven setting
  • Proven track record in content development and crisis management
  • Outstanding influencing, partnership and negotiation skills with strong ability to build
    relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Outstanding prioritization and project management skills
  • Flexible, open-minded and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
