Primary Responsibilities:

The Director will support senior leadership in managing across UnitedHealth Group’s Corporate Affairs comprised of Marketing, Communications, External Affairs, International Relations, Center for Health Care Research, Corporate Strategy, Social Responsibility and the United Health Foundation. The role will be responsible for streamlining, coordinating, and facilitating strategic initiatives, providing leadership support and ensuring progress on annual strategic planning efforts, assisting the day-to-day organizational management and execution of high-priority initiatives, among other priorities.

The Director of Corporate Affairs will be highly collaborative, results-oriented and have excellent program management skillsets to execute a wide variety of activities along with the ability to define project milestones and coordinate with both internal and external partners – at all levels of the organization. They will possess analytical and strategic thinking abilities, strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task, superior communications and interpersonal skills, and be comfortable working in a “sleeves rolled up” high-pressure environments. The Director will report to the Vice President and Chief of Staff, Corporate Affairs.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher education
5+ years of relevant experience in government affairs, health policy, or related
Experience leading projects to on-time, on-schedule and within budget close
Experience influencing and gaining buy-in from colleagues and senior leaders
Experience working both independently and in a collaborative team environment
Working knowledge of data analysis and performance / operation metrics
Proven track record of effectively interacting with senior management
You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location
Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained
