Citizen seeks a strategic and digital media-savvy Director of Digital Content to oversee and elevate Citizen’s brand presence online in addition to developing and executing a comprehensive digital content strategy to promote Citizen’s work, which includes survey research, analysis, audiences, and other actionable insights across Citizen’s diverse and cross-partisan issue set. You’re the right person for this role if you’re passionate about working across differences to bridge divides, and equally skilled at digital content creation and marketing strategy.

In this role, you’ll manage Citizen’s brand presence across website, social media, email marketing, virtual events, and more. You’ll also work closely with Citizen’s internal data, growth, and operations teams to develop a unique digital content strategy to distribute and promote Citizen’s work with the goal of raising brand awareness among key audiences — including stakeholders, thought leaders, members of the media, and potential partners — and generating new business development opportunities.

Role responsibilities: 

  • Supervise and manage all digital activities including Citizen website, social media, email marketing, and virtual events
  • Develop and execute a robust digital content strategy to distribute and promote Citizen’s work among key audiences
  • Collaborate with internal data, growth, and operations teams to ensure Citizen’s goals and priorities are reflected in all digital marketing activity
  • Support Citizen executive leadership in defining Citizen’s brand and online voice
  • Generate and present digital marketing reports and analyses for feedbackOther duties as assigned

Job requirements:

  • 5-7 years’ experience in digital marketing, social media management, and/or content strategy
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing upon a comprehensive digital content strategy
  • Proficient in managing website design/strategy
  • Demonstrated understanding of SEO
  • Ability to work collaboratively across Citizen’s functions
  • Business-minded and skilled at tying digital content to broader company objectives
  • Background knowledge of data, research, and/or data-driven advocacy efforts preferred
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and preference for a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Alignment with and commitment to Citizen’s mission
