Position Description

Help write the history of UnitedHealth Group as a part of Government Relations while healing the health care system and improving the lives of others. Bring along your passion and do your life’s best work.(sm)

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage the EA Update. Manage the process for framing, structuring, editing, and executing a strategic update on priority External Affairs (EA) activities, engagement, and results 2-3 times per week 
  • Contribute to/ Support EA Priorities. Contribute to and develop timely content to support declared priorities, including – but not limited to – talking points, videos, executive updates, advocacy materials, brochures, PowerPoint presentations, scripts, talking points, website copy, and other collateral materials 
  • EA Visibility. Partner with EA leadership and colleagues on the development and execution of externally facing visibility plans, activities, and events to advance priorities and amplify key EA and UHG deliverables, such as Thought Leadership, research, policy positions, solutions, and capabilities 
  • Measurement and Reporting. Ability to develop clear, cogent action plans with meaningful measurement and metrics, dashboards, and/ or other reporting tools 
  • Ongoing Knowledge Development. Proactive pursuit of opportunities to stay current on internal and external political dynamics, policy positions, and messaging, and the relevant external environment. Must be able to distill complex topics and issues for executive and lay audiences

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years minimum of experience working in government, politics, public affairs, communications, or related functions
  • 2 years minimum at creating content/data visualization
  • 2 year minimum PowerPoint presentations, written materials, and other collateral

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree
  • Health care sector experience and/ or expertise
  • Health care policy expertise
  • Experience producing newsletters and/ or content for publication
  • Experience with digital content distribution
