THE DIRECTOR OF GLOBAL BRAND COMMUNICATIONSwill serve as the strategic lead and provide oversight to adidas global communications focused on the Brand overall, driving best-in-class communications planning, budget management, analytics and practices for the business globally.

 

This individual will serve as the primary day-to-day contact and face of Global Brand Communications to Global Category Brand Leads and Key Stakeholders. In addition, they will manage the planning, alignment and internal communication

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the Sr. Director Brand Communications & Media on all levels of planning related to brand communications
  • Lead the development of both seasonal and annual holistic and integrated communications strategy and plans to deliver on brand needs, partnering closely with Planning and Global Category directors to harvest consumer insights
  • Foster a high-performance relationship with the Sports Performance agency of record, 72adnSunny
  • Partner with the Sr. Director Brand Communications & Media to develop and drive the global communications strategy development for the brand, to inform advertising creation plans
  • Align with Global Category Brand Directors to harvest consumer, product and category insights to directly inform Brand communication plans
  • Ensure global Brand Communications rollout plan is adhered to globally and with the markets
  • Responsible for partnering with the Director of Media to ensure insights and requirements of all brand initiatives are used to inform the Global Media Strategy and that media insights are infused into overarching Brand Communication Plans
  • Give strategic and development guidance to the Sr. Manager Brand Communications

 

Stakeholder Management:

  • Ability to effectively manage internationally located team and partners
  • Aggressively foster and motivate internal and external media teams
  • Clearly and confidently manage brand communications at the senior level (e.g. Directors and Local Brand Activation leaders)

 

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

Brand Management, Category Directors, Planning, Agency, Analytics, Markets

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to translate consumer media behaviors and business challenges into holistic communication plans
  • Deep knowledge of analytics and proven success using data to inform strategy
  • Organizationally savvy – ability to effect change and thought throughout an organization
  • Proven experience in advertising creation: agency management, planning, briefing, production and analysis
  • External and/or agency work experience at the planning and/or strategy levels
  • Experience managing agency partnerships and building strategic relationships
  • Deep knowledge of both traditional and digital/social media channels and an ability to develop and interpret media plans and analytics for both
  • Ability to act as an internal spokesperson for the brand as it relates to all facets of integrated marketing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong experience presenting to large groups with different backgrounds (marketing function + internationally diverse market teams)
  • International work experience and ability to speak multiple languages is preferred, not mandatory
  • Broad understanding and passion for the sports and/or entertainment industry

REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • 7 years + broad marketing/media experience with exposure to global clients and a mix of agency and brand-side experiences
  • 5 years + experience managing the planning, development and execution of advertising
  • Degree educated preferably in a Marketing discipline
