To interface with members of Congress and their staff regarding legislation impacting the wireless industry to promote and protect the interests of CTIA member companies. This position will have a special emphasis on Congressional Armed Services Committees and Department of Defense engagement.

Assist in the development, strategy, and advocacy of Association legislative priorities.
Work annually on the NDAA bill, and any legislative vehicle impacting the coordination, collaboration, and engagement between the wireless industry and Department of Defense and military service branches.
Establish and maintain a network of defense and armed services contacts on Capitol Hill and Administration.
Gather intelligence about political and policy issues through industry, Congressional, and Administration contacts.
Provide analytical and technical analysis on pending legislation and policy matters.
Work closely with political consultants and outside counsel to plan and conduct lobbying activities.
Represent Association at industry political events.
Liaison with member companies and other outside parties to provide planning and logistical support for CTIA-sponsored events.
Respond to inquiries and requests from member companies.
Keep apprised of industry developments and potential impacts on Association priorities.
Report to Senior Vice President, Government Affairs.

Strong familiarity with Congressional rules and procedures are required, as well as familiarity with process for annual NDAA legislation. Strong analytical and political skills are important, as is the ability to understand technology and issues related to wireless industry.

Bachelor’s degree and some advanced degree preferred. Legislative or Capitol Hill background necessary, preferably with experience on an Armed Services Committee, or as a Military Legislative Assistant.

Detail-oriented with knowledge of grammar and punctuation and ability to draft position papers. Proficiency in proofreading skills and strong communications skills are required.
