Job Description


In the Government Affairs Director position, you will serve an integral role in all Government Affairs & Business Development initiatives / opportunities, including face-to-face lobbying efforts, and attending key political affiliate conferences and meetings with Governors, Staff, and Legislators.


  • Coordinating and driving results relative to various Consultant activities and initiatives, including direct management of Modivcare’s lobbying team
  • Serving an integral role in the Corporate strategic decision-making process, business development initiatives, and new Consultant hires
  • Conducting research and assisting in the compilation of comments to regulatory bodies, state agencies, etc.
  • Identifying, analyzing and tracking legislation and regulations in the assigned region where Modivcare has interest
  • Coordinating legislative meeting tracking and providing reports to SVP of Government Affairs
  • Monitoring, attending, and reporting on legislative briefings and committee hearings, as needed
  • Providing research and analysis of various public policy initiatives as well as legislative and regulatory issues in the social services and healthcare arena
  • Coordinating invoice payments and political contributions, ensuring compliance with any necessary state and federal laws including reporting requirements
  • Producing high-level products such as reports, white papers, graphic illustrations, and power point presentations for various government clients and stakeholders
  • Assisting in the development of responses to state-based procurements, including win themes and business capture efforts
  • Handling Government Affairs for the recently acquired home care and food insecurity portions of the business
  • Communicating and liaising with other Modivcare teams on behalf of the Government Affairs department; provide updates to, and drive key initiatives for the SVP of Government Affairs
  • Executing job duties consistently with the Company’s Code of Conduct, and all laws, rules and policies applicable to the position, including timely completion of all required compliance trainings
  • Other projects as necessary



  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
  • 8+ years of corporate state government affairs or state government experience with thorough understanding of the legislative and advocacy process
  • Extensive travel throughout the year


  • Excellent written & oral communication skills
  • High degree of teamwork, organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple / various responsibilities with high quality execution and performance
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft operating programs – Word, Outlook,¬†Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint

Salary: $111,186 – $165,671 annually

Bonus eligible based upon company and individual performance
