Description
The incumbent is responsible for leading all government and legislative affairs activities for the Leonardo Helicopters, USA, Inc. (e.g. lobbying, bill tracking, and third-party outreach). The position will also support a variety of marketing and external affairs projects. This position will report directly to the Vice-President of Leonardo Helicopters USA, Inc.
Responsibilities:
- Lobbying (not limited to)
- Leading the day-to-day government and legislative affairs activities
- Coordinating the work of the company’s contract lobbyists
- Scheduling and attending meetings with Congressional staff
- Bill tracking (not limited to)
- Monitoring legislation that directly or indirectly impacts the company
- Providing regular legislative reports to company officials
- Third parties (e.g. Think Tanks) (not limited to)
- Develop third-party political and policy support for the company’s objectives
- Manage third-party relationships
- State & Local (not limited to)
- Coordinate the company’s interaction with State and Local (County and City) governments and elected officials
- Public policy (not limited to)
- Monitor key public policy issues impacting the company
- Develop strategies for the company to influence relevant public policy
Position Requirements:
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in government/legislative affairs
- Superior oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to travel both domestically and internationally on a regular basis
- Previous experience working in Government Contracts
Education:
- Advanced degree in political science or communications
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of the aerospace
- Existing third-party (think-tank) relationships
Working Conditions:
- Additional working hours/overtime as required
- Regular travel (domestic/international)
Security Clearance:
- Current Secret or Secret eligible
