• Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree, plus three to five years of public policy including state or federal lobbying experience, grassroots engagement, and experience with a professional society.
• A strong understanding of the state and federal public policy process.
• A knowledge of the organization and functions of state governments, the Federal Executive Branch agencies, and the U.S. Congress.
• The ability to identify and manage issues in the areas of procurement of A/E design, sustainability, resilience, building codes, research and development, federal appropriations, and taxation.
• Excellent computer skills, with the ability to review and research federal and state policy issues.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, grassroots tracking database (Rally Congress), state legislative tracking tool (State Net) and web publishing.
• Requires strong organizational, interpersonal and listening skills; great communication skills (oral, written).
