The Purpose of Your Role

If you are passionate about creating communications that impact business outcomes, we want to hear from you! As Director of Investments & Institutions External Communications, you will develop and implement strategic communications programs – media relations, social media and owned/supplied content – that support key priorities for Fidelity’s Asset Management business. You will also play a role in protecting Fidelity’s brand and reputation.

The Team

While you will report into the Head of the Investments & Institutions External Communications team, you will be part of an incredible team — Business Communications — responsible to driving impactful internal and external communications programs for all of Fidelity’s major revenue generating businesses. Business Communications is part of Fidelity’s centralized communications organization named Communications, Public Affairs and Policy Group or CPAPG. The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree, voracious learner with a growth mindset
  • 10-12+ years of proven experience as a communications/public relations professional: content creation, media relations and social media experience required; financial services experience preferred
  • Well-rounded communications strategist with a proven track record to develop dynamic communications campaigns and initiatives that deliver impactful results
  • Business-minded: understand the business’ multi-year plan, financial drivers, and align and prioritize high-impact communications for external audiences
  • Established media relationships or the ability to quickly develop them in order to engage with influential media on issues critical to the business you support
  • Ability to engage and consult with senior leaders and are comfortable giving constructive feedback
  • Adept at exploring new, creative and engaging ways to proactively tell the Fidelity story to key external audiences
  • Skilled at leading multiple and simultaneous projects, ensuring that all efforts meet Fidelity’s high standards in the areas of accuracy, ethics, legal and compliance
  • Understand the important role measurement and metrics play to demonstrating impact, value and guiding decision making
  • Outstanding writing, editing and research skills
  • Thrive in a fast-paced and forward-thinking environment
