Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for development of the vision, strategy and performance of a comprehensive Public Affairs strategy in support of Mayo Clinic International, working collaboratively with their peers, Mayo Clinic International leadership and colleagues in the Department of Marketing and Executive Office.
Ensure alignment of International public affairs strategies with enterprise strategic planning priorities of Bold.Forward.
Serves as the first point of contact for Mayo Clinic International physician and administrative leadership, convening a cross-functional team of Public Affairs and other professionals.
Creates and successfully implements a comprehensive international public affairs strategy.
Advises international leaders on a wide range of public affairs issues and priorities.
Provides leadership for a matrixed team environment supporting complex, ambiguous and highly visible multidisciplinary activities or projects.
Convenes intra-departmental groups to include representatives of International, Marketing and other key stakeholders to execute the defined and approved strategy.
Establish and manage budget to align to organization, International and Department priorities; proactively measure performance of investments and reallocate funds as necessary.
Develop and maintain benchmark criteria to measure the performance of International Public Affairs activities.
Participate in leadership groups and activities within Mayo Clinic International , ensuring communication to support strategic vision, operational priorities and institutional direction.
Serve as a cultural role model and represent an environment of empowerment and accountability.
Proactively lead and encourage diversity of thought and experiences in expressions of Mayo Clinic’s voice and brand; dimensions include but are not limited to race/ethnicity, language, sexual orientation and gender identity and military and disability status.
Work collaboratively with other division chairs within Public Affiars who have direct responsibility for supervision of team members to ensure priorities are successfully addressed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Affairs, Government Relations, Communications or a related field • Minimum ten years of relevant public affairs experience • Experience working on public affairs strategies in the geographic areas we are currently operating in (e.g., Europe, Middle East) and other regions that align with Mayo Clinic’s priorities • Comfortable being a hands on matrixed leader, while also having the presence to engage with executives across the organization • Experience working with a large organization and demonstrated success in developing and successfully implementing comprehensive international public affairs strategies • Experience working on public affairs strategies in the geographic areas we are currently operating in (e.g., Europe, Middle East) and other regions that align with Mayo Clinic’s priorities.

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.  The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $5481.60, based on a full-time position.
