Director, International Relations
We are currently seeking an assertive, self-starter to join our team. Responsibilities include: 1) along with federal relations and policy & legal staff, advocate and engage staff at organizations including the Treasury, Federal Reserve, NAIC, and Department of Labor; 2) assist in policy development in concert with staff in the federal, state and policy & legal departments; and 3) work with lobbyists in the federal and state relations departments to give technical, editorial and/or creative support in the development of testimony, policy position and lobbying documents; 4) staff the ACLI Global Regulatory Strategy Group and support the Chief International Officer in staffing the International Market and Trade Committee. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and minimum of seven years international government affairs experience with a trade association, company or US government. Knowledge of global insurance regulatory issues. Strong government relations strategic and analytical ability. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, including defining and refining issues into a manageable form that can be dealt with by subject matter experts. Distill technical issues and arguments into accurate written documents and presentations that are understandable and persuasive. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships and work in a team environment.
